Q8RPM – Alterntive to Q8Car
While Q8Car has been on for quite long time and is the most famous site for used cars in Kuwait, there happens to be other alternatives out there that people might not know of. Q8RPM is another quite similar site that has been online since 2004. While I haven’t practically tried any of the two sites, just visiting the site I see Q8RPM much more user friendly. The interface is much more simple and straight forward, unlike Q8Car which is becoming condensed with ads recently unfortunately. Load time of the site and cross-compatibility across browsers is also better.
The price for individual car ads is 5 KD until it’s sold, just like Q8Car for single photo. For corporate their seems to be a different rate. The advantage that is lacking from both sides is the user ability to upload the ads online. There is no online registration as it seems, I think they have to take the money in cash and take photo of the car. The good side of it is you guarantee the car image is real and not a copy/paste from the internet.

Competition is health. Thanks RayBoy. Where did you hear about such new site? I can see you can post images. Didn’t get to the credit card part yet however.
Many pages are still under development, but it’s worth to keep an eye on.

what makes a site more useful is the quantity of cars available as well as quality and the sites apart from q8car dont have much to offer in that regard.

@john: What you are saying is true about the quantity. As we mentioned Q8Car is the most famous and thus it means it has the largest collection. As for quality of the cars I don’t think this is something we can measure. It’s public ad space and the quality of the car varies.
We are not suggesting here ofcourse Q8RPM is the best solution or not as it’s always debatable, and I haven’t try any of them my self. We are shedding light on the options we see, their ups and downs, and it comes down to the reader to decide which one works best.
I see the new gulfride which RayBoy mentioned to be a potential one as it addresses the online ad posting. Something that neither of the other two does. Ofcourse when you look at the site, you want latest updates. It happens often with Q8Car that by the time the car is posted online, it’s already sold!

even thought other sites might seem to have a better or quicker interface, q8car has the most important feature of all, the biggest inventory any local car listing site. and for people who want to sell their cars it has the highest traffic rank of any of the mentioned sites, its simple if you want to buy or sell there is nothing out there with the exposure of of q8car

@KDD: This is true I totally agree in the meantime. But it took Q8Car some time to be so famous. I was impressed by how many people really use it. However we shouldn’t rule out chances of new strong comers.

To give the traffic some credibility for interested readers, Alexa rank shows Q8Car at number 65 for users in Kuwait and 11,127 worldwide. Even though Alexa is not %100 proof, it is a good indicator. So yes, competition will not be easy for new starters. But if the service quality at Q8Car is not focused on what it’s supposed to be (sell cars) then people might want to try alternatives. I already started hearing bad reviews about how the Q8Car site is turning.

Please enlighten me as to things you have heard about Q8Cars bad reviews because as far as i’ve seen the site has added some great new features. The biggest problem they have is that they are in high demand in terms of advertising so the site has become extremely crowded on the front page and messy in my opinion but in terms of of its primary focus the site is extremely effective. I listed my car there and the same day i listed it i received over 11 calls on my vehicle. Q8Car is lacking a new site which im sure will come in to effect soon because they have a great thing going which will eventually start going down hill if upgrades aren’t put in place. Also i would like to add that i received many calls from Saudi Arabia as well as Emirates which is amazing. Your comment about their rank is correct on Alexa except that they are 61 and if you look at their daily average in the next few weeks the site will be ranked north of 9800 which is quite interesting. I agree that the other sites are probably 100 times better now but in terms of bad reviews regarding the service that Q8Car provides i will have to disagree totally. Almost every dealership i visited has contracts with them and refer to them as their online inventory place so obviously their response is great. Some restaurants have terrible locations and horrible atmosphere but when it comes down to the food its so delicious that customers keep coming back. I am confident that the owners of Q8CAR are building something new because it would be a waste not to do so. Once this is completed im quite sure the conversation above will turn drastically.

Q8star: Thank you for sharing your comments and experience. The bad thing we share about Q8Car is the landing homepage quality. It takes long to load and is full of ads. In Firefox also, it does not seem to load so smoothly always. As for their service, I never tried it my self I was quoting what others have faced. Problem at least that time was the agent have to come to photo and upload your car, and by that time it would already be sold.
It seems your experience however is more recent and better. It’s quite good to know it got sold so quickly. But to get calls from outside Kuwait didn’t occur to my mind
Must get annoying at end of day.I heard rumors Q8Car was acquired also recently. Not sure though, it remains rumors.
Thanks again for your comment and welcome aboard.
